Jerome C Lane

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Nephrology)

–Dr. Jerome Lane is an attending physician in Pediatric Nephrology at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He earned a B.A. in Classics and Biology from Brandeis University in 1987, and his M.D. degree from the New York University School of Medicine in 1991. Dr. Lane completed his residency in Pediatrics at NYU Medical Center/Bellevue Hospital in 1994, and his fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Hospital in 1997

Bria Marielle Coates

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care)

I am a physician-scientist who specializes in pediatric critical care medicine. I received my MD from the University of Washington and completed my Residency in Pediatrics and Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Northwestern University. I joined the faculty in the Pediatric Critical Care Division in 2011.

Nichell Tidwell

Instructor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

I have more than 30 years experience as a Pediatrician and over the years have worked in both Suburban and Urban Hospital based setting. I also completed a 2 year Pediatric Emergency Room fellowship training. I am currently a clinical Instructor of the Phase 1b Clinical Education Course for the second year medical students at Northwestern School of Medicine.  I was a co-advisor for the 1st year medical students who are involved in the Pediatric Interest Group and have taught several course in the Northwestern Medical School.

Suzanne M Schmidt

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine) and Medical Education

Primary interests: Education and assessment of medical students and residents, curriculum development, Otoscopy, Ear disease, Ophthalmologic emergencies, Orthopedic injuries

Jacqueline B Corboy

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine)

My primary effort is in quality improvement and its ability to transform care within our division, the hospital, the medical school and our among our community partnerships. Education and exposure to quality improvement initiatives at the medical student leve will enable future physicians to provide care which is safe, equitable, efficient, effective, timely and patient-centered. Through implimentation of initiatives across both academic and community sites, care can be optimized and coordinated, ensuring evidence-based practice regardless of where their care is obtained. Elizabeth N Groothuis

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

I am a pediatric hospitalist at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Prentice Women's Hospital. I primarily work in the NICU at these sites. When not involved with clinical work, I am heavily involved with global health education within our pediatric residency program.

Nicole R Pouppirt

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology)

My primary interest is in the neurodevelopmental outcome of high-risk infants. My focus involves the early detection of cerebral palsy through various assessments, including The General Movements Assessment. A portion of my clinical time is spent caring for patients in the NICU-Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program. I am also interested in improving the safety of neonatal intubation through quality improvement efforts and the use of innovative tools, such as video laryngoscopy.

Michael L Miller

Professor of Pediatrics (Rheumatology) and Pathology

My research and clinical interests focus on the use of informatics to improve quality and research projects, by coordinating flow of data from diverse sources, including the electronic medical record. My research is in health related quality of life of children with arthritis. I am in the Division of Rheumatology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
