Bessey E Geevarghese

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Infectious Diseases)

I am interested in caring for children with any pediatric infectious disease. I primarily cover inpatient and outpatient infectious disease at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL. My clinical interests include bone & joint infections, Kawasaki disease, prolonged and recurrent fevers, lymphadenitis, skin and soft tissue infections. I work with the medical providers at CDH to implement appropriate clinical guidelines, develop hospital specific antibiotic stewardship, as well as various quality improvement projects to enhance safety and effectiveness of treatment provided to our patients.

Farshad Sedaghat-Yazdi

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

My main area of clinical interest is in general cardiology, which includes diagnosis and management of congenital heart disease and evaluation of chest pain, palpitations, syncope/dizziness, and murmurs. I also have an interest and expertise in the use and application of exercise stress testing, especially in patients with congenital heart disease, as well as its use for cardiac rehabilitation.

Robert Gregory Webster

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Cardiology)

I am a pediatric cardiologist and electrophysiologist, originally from Chicago. My wife's family and my family both live in the midwest and I have two children.

Rajit K Basu

Professor, Pediatrics (Critical Care)

After receiving his medical degree from Indiana University Medical School, Dr. Basu completed his residency in pediatrics and then a fellowship in pediatric critical care at Children's Memorial Hospital. He subsequently began his faculty career at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center as a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics and advanced to Associate Professor, serving over time as the Co-Director for the Center for Acute Care Nephrology and Associate Fellowship Program Director. Alyssa A Kriegermeier

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition)

As a pediatric hepatologist I care for children with transient and chronic liver diseases, as well as those that require liver transplantation. I am very grateful for the opportunity to care for our amazing patients. I enjoy building relationships with patients and families, and working collaboratively to keep children as healthy as they can be so they can thrive in all areas of life. 

Eric L Wald

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Critical Care)

My clinical interests focus on cardiac intensive care, chiefly the post-operative care of neonates and children undergoing congenital heart surgery.My primary research interest involves HPA axis dysfunction post-surgery, during sepsis, ARDS and other conditions involving oxidative stress.

Jill H Samis

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Endocrinology)

I am a pediatric endocrinologist engaged in clinical care and clinical research. My clinical interests are in the care of children with long-term endocrine sequelae of childhood cancer, thyroid disorders, growth disorders, and disorders of puberty. I participate in the multidisciplinary STAR (Survivors Taking Action and Responsiblity) clinic and participate in theFertility & Hormone Preservation & Restoration Program.

Meghan E O'Neill

Assistant Professor, Pediatrics (Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics)

Dr. O'Neill specializes in the comprehensive care of children with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology and pre-professional studies at the University of Notre Dame, her medical school degree at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, a general pediatrics residency at Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago, and a neurodevelopmental disabilities combined residency/fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Joanna S Blackburn

Associate Professor, Pediatrics (Neurology and Epilepsy), Medical Education

Joanna Blackburn, MD received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, completed her pediatrics residency at NYU and her child neurology residency at Northwestern University/Children's Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago). She then completed a fellowship in pediatric movement disorders at University of Rochester. She joined the faculty at Northwestern University/Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago in 2012. Additionally she has been the program director for the child neurology residency training program since 2013.

I am interested in research, advocacy, and policy development that reduces health disparities, addresses bias, racism, and other structural determinants of health and promotes social justice. My current research involves evaluating disparities in research enrollment and participation, the use of medico-legal partnerships to address the social determinants of health, and understanding public perceptions of brain death.
