Kenny delBarco Kronforst

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Neonatology)

Kenny D. Kronforst received a B.S. degree in Microbiology, as well as, her MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She then completed her M.D. degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (now McGovern Medical School). She graduated medical school in 2006 and continued her intern year in Pediatrics at the same institution. In 2007, she transferred to Boston, MA, and became part of the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics. Margot A Paisley

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Paisley is a hospital-based pediatrician. She received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and her completed her residency training at the former Children's Memorial Hosital (now Lurie Children's) where she served as chief pediatric resident. Her interests include improving communication with patients and families, and teaching and advising in undergraduate and graduate medical education.

Jacqueline A Pongracic

Professor of Pediatrics (Allergy and Immunology)

I became interested in the field of allergy/immunology (A/I) as a medical student at Northwestern. After residency, I decided to pursue a career in A/I. During my training, I worked with leaders in food allergy and childhood asthma so I was attracted to these exciting areas in which mechanistic discoveries and advances in clinical therapeutics were being made.I have had a fulfilling career as a faculty member at NUFSM and attending physician at Lurie Children's for my entire career and as Division Head of A/I since 2004.

Jennifer L Reichek

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

As a former social worker turned physician, I am acutely aware of the way in which the psycho-social atmosphere contributes to the treatment of cancer in children, adolescents, and young adults. As a physician, I try to incorporate that view into my treatment of young people with cancer.

Maria H Rahmandar

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Adolescent Medicine)

Dr. Rahmandar is an attending physician in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at Lurie Children's, the Medical Director of the Substance Use & Prevention Program, and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. She joined the faculty at Lurie Children's Hospital in 2017, and her interests include adolescent substance use, mental health and long-acting reversible contraception.

Steven O Lestrud

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care) and Pediatrics (Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine)

Pediatric pulmonary hypertension, chronic lung disease of childhood, Mechanical ventilation.

Christina M Barriteau

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hematology, Oncology, and Stem Cell Transplantation)

Dr. Christina Barriteau is a pediatric hematologist and transfusion medicine specialist. She is Medical Director of the blood bank at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Barriteau's clinical interests include sickle cell disease, pediatric transfusion medicine and health equity. 

Lindsay R Koressel

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Koressel is a Pediatric Hospitalist in the Department of Pediatrics. She is board certified in Pediatrics. She currently directs the fourth year subinternship in Pediatrics for the Feinberg School of Medicine, coordinates the Pediatric Track for introduction into the 4th year of medical school, and is a core faculty member of the Pediatric KidSTAR simulation program. She has a strong interest in improving the medical education our future physicians receive. Mariana Glusman

Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Advanced General Pediatrics and Primary Care)

I have dedicated my career to decreasing health and educational disparities among low income children, through clinical work, education and advocacy. I am a primary care pediatrician at Lurie Children’s Uptown Clinic, an academic community health center, where I also teach Northwestern residents and medical students. I am also the Immediate Past-President of the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Patrick T Lyons

Instructor of Pediatrics (Hospital-Based Medicine)

Dr. Patrick Lyons graduated from the pediatrics residency program at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in 2015 and has been on faculty within the division of Hospital Based Medicine since then. He is highly involved in the design, build and continuous improvement of the electronic medical records system (EMR) used at both the Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Medicine. His clinical interests include management of critically ill newborns in the neonatal intensive care as well as general pediatric acute care.
